I read trough the lexicon. I agree with most of it, however there is one thing we might have to add. The provided theory supposes that AI will be made at some specific point in the future, in a hard takeoff as I understand it. It supposes things to go allong the Grey Goo AI or Seed AI Shell scenario (the Alpha-Omega scenario can only unfold if the devoloper was the army, which is highly unlikely to be on the course for AI). These scenarios are interesting from the theoretical point of view, but are foundationless in praxis. Quite frankly, I don't belive in a hard takeoff ever occuring in a MeatNet, it never hapened before and it never will. But I will not resort myself to be a raw critic, I do have something to contribute from my hard work: - The hypothesis of modular intelligence: According to which, AI would be made from cooperating modules, each preforming a specific task or offering a specific service; for example a NLU, cooperating with a global database service, cooperating with a neural net, cooperating with a genetic algorithm, cooperating with an internet phone service, would surely pass the turring test. - The theory of pseudo-modules: According to which, the modules of the above AI could truly exist or be simulated by humans doing the job untill they "truly exist". This theory brings a hard takeoff and the Omega Point to HERE and NOW or in other words to the moment when the level of cooperation is sufficent. - The method of public prefered introduction: According to which, AI is introduced into this world in a way that the public can directly benerfit from it and thus the Omega Point is reached possibly without anyone noticing it. A good point here is that the scarry part, is at once the key to the most direct way to AI. What I'm saying is: If you think that nanobots would cover the planet if they were reproducing on the loose, then let them go and proove it!
