Hello Marcus, Marcus Handvest wrote: > Ok, to most of you I was not introduced yet. My name is as you all can see > Marcus but over here everyone just calls me Footlocker. However. I will fill in the exchange as to my part of it: I am Jure Sah, atho the nick CyberLegend sounds good, it is somewhat more practical if you call me Jure. =] I am the author of the ICI Console and the relatively many ideas implemented in it. The main point of having a program like the Console is keeping all the interface matters clear, simple and accessable (by which I point mostly towards software using software, as users using software is already well implented on the WWW). If cooperation is ever to be a matter amongst our teams, the Console is a good way to go, because basicaly that's what it is built for. I attach a snapshot GIF, which clearly shows how nicely is MSDOS intigrated into it. What I am looking for is a chance to have your software intigrated into the Console. You can take great advantage of that, because you will be narowing your problems down to what you are working on, would be making sure you don't duplicate procedures withing the system and making sure any components can be added, removed or replaced with newer versions whenever the end user wants that and not when you next have time to recompile your program. The facts here are that: - You could use Neil's ICSA and never have to bother about the communication problems - You could use the Console to greately simplify the search for other instances of your program around the net (the Console uses a very reliable method: echo-location) - Your program would have a visible place on the Console (an icon and a high place amongst the functions) - You could take advantage of our solutions (the Data Storage Protocol amongst others, a standard for storing and placing databases, where all problems with on-disk location are taken care of) - You could decide to put a price on your program, as it could be sold togather with our software. - We (you and us) could advertize your program with our software. While devoloping, you would be provided with a copy of our software, which has special copyright restrictions, because you get it for free, but should serve as help with devolopment and debugging.
