It would surely be hard to make a living out of a project of that age. To those who are unfamiliar with the Meaning maps, their idea was to fix words into a numerical database (coordinate system), where every word's coordinates translate to it's (relative) meaning. A database organized this way would allow NLU and NL-synthesys programs to find and conclude synonims and such with ease (there are mathematical solutions to search from a specific point outward in multi-dimensional space without having to scan trilions of completely irrelevant points), while not loosing or being limited by the "relevance" piece of information. The main problem with Meaning maps, like anything else that has to do with natural language is that the dictionary data needs to be converted into it's format. And regardless of the fact that it is completely possible to grow a more complex Meaning map via common (human-like) NL learning methods (by assuming relevance out of context and inserting words or fine-tunning their relative coordinates as appropriate), the basics still need to be defined. Anyone willing to discuss the idea very welcome. I look forward to making something of it.
