I saw that one in action (irony), when I posted my idea about Meaning Maps. Just for the record: Meaning Maps represent a collection of mathematical methods that allow quick and easy 'organic' handeling of actual meaning, featuring lots of things that the typical visitors of this NG would stick under intelligence. They're about keeping each meaning as a pixel in a multidimensional map, where each dimension represents one sense [E.g.: Apple(sweet, sour, red, round)]. As such, a specific meaning can be pinpointed as a location or region on the map, then the most relevant actual meaning (word, action, object, etc) can be found by oscilating trough unknown dimensions. Then there is also the relevancy of two meanings that can be found by calculating the distance between the two locations on the map. Synonims can be found by oscilating only one dimension (two pixels that refer to two things can never be overlaying eachother in all dimensions). Hypernims (or what's the word?) and the other can be found by looking for a region that covers a location, and of course oscilating one dimension. Great idea and yet more or less completely ignored. -- Don't feel bad about asking/telling me anything, I will always gladly reply. Digging for info?
