[09:51:33] keeps stealing my nick tabs. [09:51:37] o/ lukas [09:51:40] There we go... [09:52:35] Just coming in quickly. Going out to pick bill berries. [09:55:00] I'm pushing further the CNC project. Decided to build a smaller mill at first, and be able to produce with it any boards, and then build something bigger. [09:55:12] AWESOME. [09:55:23] Perhaps i could order some reprap parts from you then. [09:55:43] I dont have the workshop space to make a bootstrap CNC myself. [09:56:28] sure, i would do that on material cost only, but first in need to build it [09:58:39] kman, you may visit me and bring the material with you also, we could have some fun with hacking with other stuff :D [10:00:58] Hey thats a good weekend vacation idea. [10:01:18] Very cheap to fly to PL, plus i live quite near the airport. [10:01:32] Invitation accepted. [10:01:42] :D [10:03:38] ok, then we would need to setup later the date (if you would like to come for a week or longer, that should not be a problem), I'm expecting to get in next week an info from Viper about our panned trip to Spain [10:04:47] Oh! Exciting! [10:04:50] Great. [10:05:07] Hey btw, whats the terminal command for getting a tree of all processes that are running? [10:05:12] xxxtree something? [10:06:08] btw kman: what do you think about solar panels? i found these small ones plates which can be combined together to produce big panels, 100W for about 70 euro, but the problem is that i don't think this technology is good at all [10:06:19] kman: htop or top [10:06:54] lukas, i mean like a diagram [10:07:07] then don't know :| [10:08:44] panels from my perspective sux because it's hard to do them fully on your own atm, and they loose their performance over time [10:09:05] kman: did you thought about any alternative? [10:11:10] I agree with you totally. I like solar panels when i know the material (iridium and so on) isnt being mined under conditions i would never work under. [10:11:43] yeah, that means waste for environment in future [10:11:55] Many of the resources needed for manufacturing them (at least the ones with usable wattage) are scarce and mined in countries like remote parts of Africa. [10:12:34] We dont have the systems for recycling those materials. So, no. I dont like the solar panels i have seen so far. But its very important technology imho. [10:12:54] Small-scale wind and water is more interesting to me. [10:13:58] I noticed last days when i was off-grid that you either have good wind xor good sunlight, but rarely both at the same time. [10:14:50] These two from my perspective would need to work together in one system. [10:15:20] Water ofc is cool as well, but personally i don't have access to flowing water atm. [10:20:15] Everything has its limitations ^^ [10:21:11] But then again, you have might find a solar panel that has environmental benefits that outweigh the bad sides. Research and critical thinking!
