[22:07:45] No, not yet. You? [22:07:51] yes [22:07:52] * BranManFloMore burps [22:08:04] * JoshStrobl excuses BranMan [22:08:15] What did he say regarding it? [22:08:33] i think better would be to talk in mumble when dns is around [22:09:16] ok [22:09:20] JoshStrobl what have rbose to do with EvoVid? [22:09:57] We already covered this [22:10:18] i think that was DNS question [22:10:40] btw JoshStrobl if you PM DNS he will see it there [22:11:02] Hey BranManFloMore :) [22:11:03] Had you told him what I told you, there would've been no reason for that question in the first place. [22:11:07] Yea I know Viper :D [22:11:27] yeah i show him that image and past some logs [22:11:50] Ok, so there should be no reason for that question. [22:14:12] Now i have that question too [22:14:42] what have rbose to do with EvoVid? I mean rbose users/projects and so on [22:16:41] Well, RBOSE was the initial place I brought up the fact I was even thinking about doing this project, which sparked some interest from Caly. I think the general idea is good and being that there are a good amount of active users in RBOSE that actually know how to give quality input, I'd be able to get quality feedback on EvoVid, plus such users can engage in one of the first experiments of community funding (via Flattr, Paypal, et cetera) a [22:17:46] RBOSE already has an open list of active people from the IRC, which in the end helps reduce the need for me to search for active members and reduces need for promotion a bit, although I'll be utilizing my Facebook Ad credits and Google Adsense credits. [22:18:25] And somehow commercial promotion is in line with our visions? [22:18:36] Commercial? [22:18:46] Its not commercial promotion. [22:18:58] There is no means of profit off EvoVid. [22:19:12] I can make a RBOSE Channel there. [22:19:16] And I'm not paying to promote EvoVid, when I set up the domain I just got all this free shit there is. [22:19:21] Hey Viper. [22:19:23] Bran -> Exactly [22:19:24] But you still need community funding? [22:19:48] kman -> Depends on bandwidth cost and how popular it gets. Have you heard of Flattr? http://flattr.com [22:19:49] URL Title: Flattr - Social micropayments [22:20:24] I'm not mining users for money, those who like the service and wouldn't mind clicking a Flattr button or donating a dollar to help ensure bandwidth and server space is adequate would be great. [22:20:42] guys, you should read stallmans book :D [22:20:43] Thats like asking if the guys over at Pioneer One NEED community funding [22:20:57] They don't particular need it, but it would most certainly help. [22:21:01] *particularly [22:21:38] what if the backbone was driven by something like torrents [22:21:44] JoshStrobl Maybe i did not get it. But i still dont see what have RBOSE with EvoVid [22:22:03] kalken -> You mean like GnuNet? [22:22:16] i was just thinking about the funding part [22:22:26] i guess you mean bandwith and storage [22:22:32] Yes [22:22:45] so distribution might be the key [22:23:18] Users will be able to add torrents to EvoVid. Not via upload or an EvoVid tracker, but by linking to something like legittorrents. [22:23:35] I'll be very keen on torrents and copyright issues, don't want another Youtube v.s. Viacom on my hands. [22:24:12] yeah. Closed media is bad media :D [22:24:13] Although it will be more of a safe haven for videos for like the guy over at thezeitgeistmovements.wordpress.com [22:24:22] *** Quits: kman (kman@RBOSE-hhm.9h0.94.93.IP) (Connection closed) [22:24:34] kalken -> Since EvoVid is based on HTML5, users can easily download a video by right clicking and clicking "Save As" [22:24:43] :) [22:24:45] Downloading is welcomed. [22:25:10] The point is to share culture, created by your average user, not some multimillion dollar corporation. [22:25:23] when i can get rid of damn flash on my computer, i will be running 99% free software [22:25:28] http://evovid.com [22:25:29] URL Title: EvoVid | Home [22:25:32] only damn wlan firmware left... [22:25:46] JoshStrobl: yes, i was browsing it :D [22:25:49] :) [22:26:10] Another goal is to keep it as simplistic and clean as possible. [22:26:13] have you looked at funding via fsf? [22:26:17] or maybe just get resources [22:26:19] No I haven't actually. [22:26:24] I should consider doing that. [22:26:28] Thanks for the idea! [22:26:36] np :) [22:26:38] Lemme guess, you won't charge for that one? Maybe the next tip? lol [22:26:51] lol [22:27:17] Look at Youtube. It a decent site, but its ruined by advertisement, Vevo and lots of useless stuff I never will use. [22:27:32] *Its [22:28:31] Once they started to turn it more into a venue for premium accounts and businesses, it got ruined. [22:31:00] I mean really, do you really give two shits about the Spotlight, Trends, "Featured" section of the home page? I don't. Love the large ad that shows up unless you have AdBlock? I don't. [22:31:31] i even block google [22:31:36] lol [22:31:38] :D [23:17:02] business tend to turn things into shit :D [23:17:36] even ubuntu have had its fair share of that lately [23:28:17] *** Quits: SoNeta (piespy@rbose.IRC.people) (Connection closed) [23:28:41] *** Joins: SoNeta (piespy@rbose.IRC.people) [23:54:21] *** Quits: JoshStrobl (qwebirc@RBOSE-suledd.rioaccess.com) (Quit: Page closed)
