Well I won't say it's imposible for me to do it, but it would be a

little hard esspecialy because I'm working on IOSC at the same time. =]

I basicaly know nothing about FTP or even less SCP, but if you would

like me to transfer a file from one computer to another, there is little

of a problem. I would be simply piping the entire file trough SSH in

blocks in order to easily follow the process. Note here that we would

either require to change the bitwise encoding of the file in order to

get the space for the flow control symbols (EOF, etc) or set some

standards for the first few bytes in a block.

I'd vote for the second option unless you already have a program for the

bitwise recoding. The first option means a little more processing and

sometimes a lot better compression of the sent, while the second means a

very simple implementation and a little more wasted during the sending

of a file.

There is also the third option of sending the file on another port, in

paralell, so it's contents don't interfer with the IOS procedures, but

this one would require cooperation from the side of your SSH codec, to

adjust the portnumbers.

Making the graphical appearance in general, would take me some more

learning, but as I expect not much (I've decided to use only the "Norton

commander"-like implementation, no use for the other).

You need to formulate this togather and tell me what is a priority. I

can send you my debug logs if you want to see what all is to be done and

how hard is what.

Neil, I am very much interested in seeing voice transfer with IOS,

please look into it if you find the time. I guess there must be some

voice encoders around and if I only plug this to the FTP function above

and add some automation, the SSH protected voice transfer will be here.

I'd most like to know just how fast could it be, this means, you's need

to look for compression ratios and finnal file sizes per second of voice

recording.

But of course this is lower in the priority list.

C'ya!
