Hello fellow trackers,

I now have, in my gripp, the technology, er ok, nearly the technology to

enable MOD streaming that takes a playlist from somewhere and DLs the

files while playing them.

The trick would be to have a gigantic playlist somewhere on the net,

prefferably on our central network server, that would include links to

your tracks on your hard drives and then if you happened to be online,

the users of the playlist could DL directly from your PCs or whatever

you happen to have and have that stuff played back automaticaly.

So no more bugging around with hosts for your tracks and the going

trough the updating problems for every bit of code you happen to decide

to change. And finnaly a good MOD radio station for the audience, not

downloading miles of MP3 code, but simply your cute little module files

in source format, being fed into your favourite MOD player, if it

supports DDE (otherwise you just get a million instances of the same

program, DDE support is a decent thing to have if running in Windows).

The only problem here would be that you'd have to DL our entire package

for ICINet access (a protocol that is quite a bit faster than anything

you've seen before and allows dynamic IP-ed PCs to become network peers

with a fixed name you don't have to pay to register). That is, as a good

excuse, I could get some copies around for debbugging if there's anybody

interested.

What do you all think. Would you use such a system?

C'ya!
