Around here, not all people got enough to get their own computers, so I

and ppl like me buy cheap computers at our parent's workplaces (office

computers are replaced by new ones every once in a while), then we wire

them up to work (cause ussualy we have to clean up the ashes from fried

CPUs, FDisk the hard drives and reslot the graphic cards; if you buy 3,

you can get 2 to work if you're a pro ;) and sell the ones we don't

need, to the people who can't buy new ones, via these underground

organizations that can find them and do the transporting jobs (cause me

getting a PC and a 15 inch monitor, to a guy on the other side of the

country, personaly, would be quite impossible). We sell real cheap tho,

like $60, which is still a lot better than than throwing 'em away. Not

to mention the ego points we acumulate. ;]

Oh. I don't play games that old. All of the ones I got here have a

timer-based system, which means the faster the computer is, the smoother

the game runs, which means that all the games I play look REAL COOL on

the newer comps.

I've just put togather a null-modem, if you know what that is, a wire

from one COM port to the other, on another PC. I used one DB9 M/F cable

(extension cable) and a DB9 F/F plug (so called "gender converter";

silly naming idea, I thought to myself as I brought one), then I had to

go trough the painsticking job of getting one end of the extension cable

off, translating the shematics I downloaded and then re-fusing the

little cables onto that end of the cable in the correct order (and this

is like the cables are 0.1 mm thick and stand in 0.5 mm distances from

eachother, add some metal melting tools to the job and you'll about

understand how 'nice' it is to be making one of these ;). But it was

worth it. Now I have a full handshake serial connection between my two

PCs. Like my programs and some of the games have no problem using it

(like I can say "Reroot 60 3F8" on one and "GGet 3F8" on the other and

the programs reroot hardware I/O from the keyboard on the first PC,

trough the cable, to a graphical osciloscope display program on the

other; it's cool! I'll have to work on something simmilar that works for

connecting ICI Consoles now. I can also play Descent over the nully and

that kinda rocks too), but DOS and Windows obviously got their drivers

messed up again and they can't connect.

What do you think I meant? =P

ER?! Use it more often maybe?! =P

Anyway, the one thing that might help you: Electronics and other mechs

love WD-40, bugs however, can't stand it. So if you're about to get that

junk out of your PC one way or another, I recomend you put some WD in

it, cause the thing will do everything from protecting your comp from

dust and water (usualy responsible for loose contacts), to getting the

bugs moving out and cleaning up the mess behind them. All my comps are

WD-ed and they work great. Keep in mind tho that if you put any WD on

the floppy drives, be sure to wipe the heads clean with some diskette

that doesn't work, cause it'll be ruined.

Like those in the UK alright, tho the plugs for computers are all the

same. Just keep in mind that we have like 220V at 50Hz here, so that you

don't get anything fried.

I've seen power plug converters all over the place, so that really

shouldn't be a problem.

I was thinking more like snail-mailing CDs. =P But I'll surely DL

anything like a full Descent or any of those. Like my DL upper limmit is

like 13 megs I think, tho depends on the speed of the downloads server.

Let's just keep it at: Most *[nothingness]* sports suck. =P I like

hockey tho. =P

Yea, that sounds like it alright. =P The problem with "now" is that

everybody is so freaking ignorant. Otherwise I could say I feel like I

have a mental connection with something timeless, because most of the

times I can instinctively know what is going to happen to me next and

I've always known I kinda' live in the past.

Hehe. What do you think about this cuddly little wolf (see picture

attached)? It's a wolf alright, but there is something wrong... =P

Something that makes the wolf even cuddlier. =P Dmn, I'd like to have

one of these at home, cause it fires off the protective chapter of my

instinct. <=S
