Hello Neil,

I guess I can tell you about this little idea.

As I worked on SysBridge lately, I discovered there is a notification

that indicates when a CD is insterted in the drive.

The current CD-based technology (meaning mostly the CD-player and

autoplay here) is usefull and impressive enough, however quite poor in

regards of multimedia if you come to think of it.

So I was thinking of making a little link between SysBridge and the rest

of the ICI system (a little databank that causes SysBridge to execute a

specific ICI command when it recieves a specific signal from the

system). This little update would enable us to introduce many new kinds

of data CDs, not only audio ones, but also all kinds of multimedia ones.

An ICI CD-handler would read a little databank in the root of the CD and

link it's contens to any ICI function the databank says the CD relates

to. Keeping in mind that ICI functions might include links to whatever

kinds of devices (holographic projectors and robots pop to mind) or

practicaly anything that a devoloper can code out in any programming

language, that is _quite_ a multimedia feature.

And it would take some indeed very minor programming effort.

What do you think of it?

C'ya!
